| Description: | NMC Diesel Technology Sponsorship and Caterpillar Scholarship Programs
NMC is pleased to offer students who wish to become Heavy Construction and Agricultural Diesel Technicians, an opportunity to attend Central Community College (CCC) in Hastings, Nebraska. There are two separate programs in which they can participate; the NMC Student Sponsorship Program (for Agriculture and Heavy Construction) and the Caterpillar Foundation Scholarship.
The NMC Student Sponsorship Program allows us, as the Caterpillar dealer in Nebraska, to offer numerous student sponsorships that will allow selected applicants the opportunity to earn a two-year associates degree in diesel technology. The sponsorship provides funds to cover tuition and book fees along with tools and a tool box ($5,400 in value). The two-year sponsorship support is worth an estimated $14,000 to the selected students. We believe this program will enable the students to be prepared for a long-term career at NMC. In addition to the information detailed above, we will also offer the students summer intern positions that will allow them to apply hands-on skills at one of our 5-Star certified facilities.
The sponsorships will be for the 2010-2012 associate degree school year. In order to qualify for the sponsorships, applicants must:
1.Visit the Central Community College campus at Hastings
2.Complete an application and be accepted to Central Community College
3.Complete an application for the NMC Sponsorship
4.Take, or have taken, the school provided COMPAS, ASSET or the ACT test
Finalists for the sponsorship program will be invited to interview with our Human Resources department and selected service management personnel. NMC will contact student finalists to arrange interviews. Sponsored students must agree to work for NMC for a minimum of two years upon completion of their associate degree.
In addition to our Sponsorships, we will also offer five $1,000 Caterpillar Foundation Scholarships from the Caterpillar Foundation fund. There is no obligation required to receive the five $1,000 scholarships, student only need to complete our Caterpillar Scholarship form.
We strongly encourage you to apply for both the NMC Sponsorship and the $1,000 Caterpillar Scholarship Fund. All applications must be received by February 12, 2010.

Please note this is a state wide opportunity. You do not need to be located in Omaha to apply or be eligible. This program is available at each of our Nebraska locations. To be eligible you must be accepted by and attend Central Community College- Hastings Campus.
