Description:Repairs machines to the customers and supervisor’s satisfaction. Removes, installs, diagnoses, repairs, disassembles, assembles and performs failure analyses of all Caterpillar equipment including engines, hydraulics, and transmissions.
Duties:• Troubleshoots and tests various machine systems, compares test results to specifications and determines if the system is working as designed.
• Uses service manuals, STW, SIS and parts books effectively to address technical issues. Performs all required tasks in accordance with printed procedures.
• Uses parts books and SIS effectively and orders parts required to complete repairs.
• Writes complete, factual service reports for files and warranty purposes using STW.
• Evaluates parts to determine reusability and cause of failure.
• Uses troubleshooting methods to repair and diagnose machine failures and perform repairs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:High School diploma or equivalency required. Two to five years minimum experience working on heavy equipment in a Caterpillar or equivalent environment with Hydraulic, Engine and Power-Train experience required. Disassemble, Assemble, Remove and Install machine components, and systems experience required. Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record required. Excellent customer service skills required. Knowledge and use of Microsoft computer products or other comparable systems required. Performs all duties in alignment with Western States Equipment core values, mission and vision. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with others to include customers, vendors, employees and the public. Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision required. Ability to work overtime with minimal notice required. This position requires ability to lift a minimum of 75 pounds. Frequent walking, standing, climbing, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, kneeling, stooping and leaning required.
